In a ceremony held at the council chambers of the Jigawa State Government house in Dutse, Governor Mallam Umar A. Namadi officially swore in Barrister Bello Abdulkadir Fanini as the newly appointed Commissioner of Justice/Attorney General.

Born in 1971 in Birnin Kudu, Barrister Fanini holds an LLB from Bayero University Kano (BUK) since 1997. Prior to his appointment, he served diligently with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Abuja and various states, including Sokoto, Bauchi, Rivers, and Enugu.

The appointment follows the former commissioner's elevation to the chairmanship of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

During the ceremony, Governor Namadi emphasized the importance of the Commissioner's role, describing it as the most challenging and tedious job due to the potential repercussions of legal advice on the state. He urged Barrister Fanini to approach his duties with dedication, fearlessness, and adherence to the state's 12-point agenda for progress.

Governor Namadi congratulated Barrister Fanini, emphasizing the state house of Assembly's clearance as a testament to his fitness for the role, and wished him the best of luck.

In response, the newly sworn-in Commissioner expressed gratitude to Governor Namadi for the opportunity and pledged to execute his duties with diligence and a strong sense of integrity.

The event drew attendance from notable figures, including the state deputy Governor, the speaker of the Jigawa state House of Assembly, council members, party chieftains, and well-wishers.
