Dutse, Jigawa State – Tensions are heightening within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party’s National Financial Secretary, Hon. Bashir Usman Gumel, has released a controversial poster that has sparked widespread debate and condemnation across the state capital, Dutse.
The poster, which flooded major streets and online platforms under the banner “Office Donation to Renewed Hope Support Groups”, prominently displays images of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goswhwe Yilwatda, Jigawa APC Chairman Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, and Minister of Defense H.E. Badaru Abubakar.
Notably absent, however, is Jigawa State Governor Malam Umar Namadi, a development political watchers say is a calculated snub and a deliberate attempt to sideline the governor in party affairs.
This fresh controversy comes barely weeks after Bashir Gumel made anti-party utterances at an illegal gathering in Kafin Hausa, an act that already unsettled party loyalists and stakeholders.
Observers warn that Gumel’s latest action could deepen divisions within the Jigawa APC, with many supporters of the governor describing the move as “provocative and undermining.” Calls are mounting for the national leadership of the party to step in and prevent the looming crisis from escalating further.
