RESOLUTION OF THE JIGAWA STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 25TH MARCH, 2024

Highlights of the far-reaching decisions taken today at the State Executive Council meeting, chaired by the His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA .The State Executive Council has approved:  

1. A White Paper Committee Report of the Committee of Inquiry on Health Training Institutions in the State. The Council has directed the Office of the Head of Service (OHoCS), Ministry of Health and Office of the Account General to implement the recommendations of the White Paper committee and directs as follows. 

I. Government accepts the recommendations to relieve the Provost, Bursar and Registrar of the College of Nursing Birnin Kudu and they should report to Ministry of Health, office of HOS and accountant General. 

II. Council approves that the Directors of Schools of Nursing Birnin Kudu, Hadejia and Babura are relieved of their Post and should report to the Ministry of Health. 
 
III. The Directors of Birnin Kudu, Hadejia and Babura to refund funds they failed to account. 

IV. The Provost, Bursar and Registrar of College of Health Science, Jahun are relieved of their post and should report to the Ministry of Health, office of HOS and Accountant General. 

VI. The Provost of college of Health Science to account for funds from IGR and Government release that were not accounted for. 

VII. All officers that are receiving salaries not due to them and not serving at the colleges but on the colleges nominal roll to refund excess funds they received. 

VIII. Government has directed for the Ministry of Health to upgrade infrastructures and working materials to the Schools of Nursing Birnin Kudu, Hadejia and College of Health Science, Jahun. 

IX. The Ministry of Health to recruit more staff to address the gabs in tutors of the two colleges. 

X. Government to reconstitute the Governing Councils of the two colleges. 

XI. Government also directed the Ministry of Health to review the feeding allowance for the Students of College of Health Sciences, Jahun 
 
2. Additional Loan to JASCO for the purchase of 90,000 bags (150 Trucks) of NPK Fertilizer for the 2024 Farming Season for sale to Jigawa Farmers amounting to Two Billion Naira (N2,000,000,000.00) only in line with His Excellency’s administration agricultural drive in the State.   

3. Construction of 7no. Midwives Quarters and Wall Fence of 19 Modules at Abaya PHC in Dutse, Koya PHC in Miga, Kanzan PHC in K/Hausa, Madachi PHC in Kirikasamma, Yar’ Sara PHC in Roni, Chakwaikaiwa PHC in Taura and Amanga PHC in Sule Tankarkar respectively. The construction was awarded at the contract sum of Three Hundred and Five Million, Six Hundred and Seventy Four Thousand, Four Hundred and Thirty -Nine Naira Eleven Kobo (N305,674,439.11K) only. 
 
4. The sum of One Hundred and Seventy Two Million, Seven Hundred and Fifty -Four Thousand, one Hundred and Fifty-Eight Naira (N172,754,158.00K) only to a revised sum of Two Hundred and Fifty -Two Million, Eight upward review of contract for the Supply and Installation of Solar Mini Grid at Dutse General Hospital from initial sum of One Hundred and Seventy -Two Hundred and Forty-Nine Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety -Five Naira Fifty Kobo (N252,849,395.50K) only for solar in the existing structure and newly constructed 8 Blocks at Dutse General Hospital with a total of 145.3KW instead of the initial 112.9KW.
