RESOLUTION OF THE JIGAWA STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 10TH JUNE 2024

Highlights of the major decisions taken at the State Executive Council meeting held today Monday 10th June, 2024 as chaired by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA. The Council has approved:

1. The recommendations of the Interim Report of the Committee on Review and Retrieval of Farmland Allocation under the Chairman of Secretary to the State Government Hon. Bala Ibrahim. The recommendations aimed to bring a lasting peace in the state with regards to land dispute and Farmers/Herders clashes.

2. The recommendations of the Council Committee on Multi- Skills Acquisition Program in the State under the Chairmanship of Commissioner of Basic Education Hon. Lawan Yunusa Danzomo. The recommendations aimed at tackling unemployment, reducing poverty and offering job creation opportunities for the teaming youth statewide.

3. The release of sum of Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand (USD 220,000) only for the payment of outstanding debt to Informatics Education, Singapore from Term 1, 2002 to Term 1, 2024 (T1 2002 - T1 2024) in respect of Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure. This is in line with the His Excellency, Malam Umar A. Namadi FCA commitment to reposition Jigawa as IT Hub State in the country.

4. The sum of Four Billion, Three Hundred and Eighty-Seven Million Naira (N4,387,000.00) only for the commencement of Loan Scheme under the Workers Agricultural Support Programme in the State. The programme aimed at providing civil servants and other state government officials with zero interest loan to engage in agriculture activities, in line with the present administration effort to ensure food security and boost agriculture in the State.

5. The validation of State Agricultural Policy by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in Collaboration with Procom+. The new agricultural policy when approve will support Jigawa State effort to ensure food security and boost agriculture in the State in support of Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR.
