Governor Namadi's commitment to transforming the education sector in his state has been evident from the outset of his tenure. As part of his comprehensive 12-point agenda, he undertook strategic measures to address the challenges faced by the education sector and pave the way for a brighter future.

One of the governor's first initiatives was a meticulous review of the education sector, conducted during ministerial briefings before the formation of the executive council. Recognizing the need for a targeted approach, he divided the Education Ministry into the Ministry for Higher Education and the Ministry for Basic Education. Two highly qualified PhD doctors were appointed to head these ministries, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their respective roles. Additionally, a professor was appointed to lead the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), further emphasizing the governor's commitment to promoting excellence across all levels of education.

Governor Namadi's efforts extended beyond administrative restructuring. A significant move was the increase in school feeding fees by 40 percent, reflecting his dedication to improving the overall well-being of students. Furthermore, the appointment of 1,000 J-TEACH teachers for senior secondary schools and the deployment of over 2,000 graduates from primary schools to teach at various senior secondary schools demonstrated the governor's proactive approach to addressing teacher shortages.

In a groundbreaking step, the governor set to grant permanent and pensionable offers to another set of 3,000 J-TEACH teachers, focusing on fortifying the primary education level. Recognizing the dynamic needs of the sector, an additional 3,000 J-TEACH temporary teachers will also be employed to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Governor Namadi's commitment to infrastructure development was evident in the ongoing renovation of abandoned schools throughout the state. This initiative was complemented by the provision of teaching aids and the distribution of furniture across the 27 local government areas. The governor's emphasis on quality education was further underscored by the provision of beds and mattresses in boarding schools, enhancing the learning environment for students.

To ensure effective implementation and oversight of these ambitious initiatives, the governor appointed Special Advisers, Technical Advisers, and Senior Special Assistants dedicated to supervising and overseeing activities in the education sector. This multifaceted approach reflects a holistic strategy aimed at addressing not only immediate challenges but also fostering a sustainable and thriving educational ecosystem.

In conclusion, Governor Namadi's 12-point agenda for the education sector stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment to transforming the state's educational landscape. Through administrative restructuring, teacher empowerment, infrastructure development, and strategic oversight, he has laid the foundation for a brighter and more promising future for the students of the state.
