Barely weeks after his anti-party utterances at an illegal gathering in Kafin Hausa, the National Financial Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Bashir Usman Gumel, has again stirred controversy with a newly released poster.
The poster, published under the theme “Office Donation to Renewed Hope Support Groups”, prominently features President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Goswhwe Yilwatda, APC Jigawa State Chairman Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, and Defense Minister H.E. Badaru Abubakar.
Conspicuously absent, however, is Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation about widening cracks within the state chapter of the ruling party.
Party stakeholders have described the publication as “a deliberate move to undermine the governor’s authority” and a “continuation of Bashir Gumel’s divisive politics,” which many fear could weaken party cohesion ahead of future elections.
Political observers are calling on the APC national leadership to intervene swiftly, warning that such actions risk deepening internal rifts in Jigawa State at a time when unity is most needed.
