RESOLUTION OF THE JIGAWA STATE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL HELD ON WEDNESDAY 17th JANUARY, 2024.

1.The State Executive Council has today during its deliberation approved the recommendations of the white paper committee on three out of five (5) Tertiary Institutions in the State.

The Council has approved anddirected all the affected institutions Governing Council Management, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Justice, Office of the Head of Service, Office of the Accountant Generaland Auditor General to immediately implement the recommendations of the White Paper reports on Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel, College of Education, Legal and Islamic Studies, Ringim and Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse respectively.

2.Similarly, the Council has received the report of the White Papercommittee on Health Training Institutions in the State and approved the immediate suspension of the Provost, Registrar and Bursar of the College of Health Science Jahun and College of Nursing and Midwifery Birnin Kudu, pending the review of the white paper report recommendations. 

3.In a related development, the State Executive Council deliberated on the Committee of Inquiry Report on NG-J-CARES Result Area 2: Fadamapresented before Council and approved the immediate suspension of the State Coordinator and all the 27 LGAs Desk Officers of the NG-JCARES Result Area 2: Fadama in the State. Similarly, the Council directed the Committee of Inquiry report to a White Paper committee under the chairmanship of the State Head of Service (HOS) to review the recommendations of the report for implementation modalities to refunds all money misuse and abuse of contracts under the Fadama project. 

4.In line with His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi FCA, 12 Points Agenda provision of portable drinking water across the State. The State Executive Council have deliberated and approved a memorandum presented by the Ministry of Water Resources for the award of contract for the procurement of AGO Diesel, Water Treatment Chemicals, Services and Lubricants across the 27 LGAs in the State. The Council has approved the sum of Four Billion, Nine Hundred and Seventy Million, Nine Hundred and Ninety-TwoThousand, One Hundred and Ninety-One Naira (N4,970,992,191.00K)only for the year 2024 procurement of AGO Diesel, Water TreatmentChemicals, Services and Lubricants across the 27 LGAs in the State.

5. The Council has also approved a memo presented by Ministry of Women Affairs for Physical Verification/Validation of People with Disability and Establishment of Database of Orphans, Orphanages and Vulnerable Aged Populations in the State. Following the deliberation on the memo the Council has unanimously approved the upward review of the monthlyallowance from N7,000 to N10,000 per each person with disabilitymonthly.

 Similarly, the Council approved for the increase of number of beneficiaries at each of the 27 LGAs from 150 to 200 beneficiaries across the State. 

6. Equally, the State Executive Council it is drive to accelerate agricultural development in the State under the administration of His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar Namadi FCA has approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Jigawa State Government and FGV- Europe on the development and implementation of Bio-inputs, High Quality Seeds, Green House, Irrigation System and Training and Capacity building on agricultural manpower of the State.
