In line with Jigawa State Government commitment to reduce hardship among the people of the State due to hike in the cost of food items, the State Executive Council has
approved a Memorandum presented before the Council by the Ministry for Special Duties for the procurement of additional grains as palliative for special Ramadan Iftar
Feeding Programme. The Council has approved the sum of Two Billion Eight Hundred and Thirty-Five Million, Three Hundred and Twenty-One Million, Three Hundred
Naira (2,835,321,300K) only for the special Ramadan Iftar Feeding programme across the State. The Council has during its deliberation approved a total of 609 feeding centers statewide with minimum of 2 centers at
each of the 287 political wards for the distribution of iftar feeding particularly to the poor and vulnerable segment of the population.
Similarly, the Council consider establishinga dedicated iftar feeding centers at each of the 10 Tertiary Institutions in the State. Also, the Council has agreed to provide 3 different food items (Jollop Rice, Kosai and Kunu) to at least 300 people per center with total 182,700people in a day statewide for a period of 3 weeks which is expected to cover 3,836,700 people throughout the Ramadan Period was also decided that centers will be rotated within the ward for wider coverage and fairness across all communities within each ward throughout the Ramadan Period. In orderto ensure the success of the feeding programme, the Council has constituted a committee to supervise the successful conduct of the feeding to the targeted population (poor and the vulnerable).

1. Honorable Commissioner in each of LGA - Chairman
2. Hon. Member of State House of Assembly. - Member
3. Special Advisers to serve as Chairman in LGA wherethere is no Hon. Commissioner/ - Member
4. Local Government Chairman - Member
5. Police -DOP - Member
6. DSS officer of the Local Government - Member
7. Representative CSOs - Member
8. Representative Districts Head - Member
9. Local Government Secretary - Secretary
• Similarly, the Council has approved the sum of One Billion One Hundred Twenty-Five Million Naira (N1,125,000,000) emergency procurement of additional 12,000 Bags of Rice and 15,000 Cartons of Spaghetti in order to ensure food items in stuck in various SEMA stores across the State meet the Subsidy Shop that are target for theState Civil Servants.
