Jigawa State Executive Council Approves ₦75 Billion Supplementary Budget for 2025

Dutse, Jigawa State – The Jigawa State Executive Council, presided over by His Excellency Malam Umar A. Namadi, FCA, has given the green light to a ₦75 billion Supplementary Budget for the 2025 fiscal year, covering both the State Government and the 27 Local Government Councils.

The supplementary appropriation, according to officials, is driven by additional revenue inflows and is strategically designed to meet emerging financial needs while reinforcing priority sectors for sustainable development.

Under the new approval, ₦58 billion has been earmarked for the State Government, while ₦17 billion will be shared among the 27 Local Government Councils. Both allocations cover recurrent and capital expenditure components.

Focus on Key Sectors

The supplementary budget is expected to:

Strengthen ongoing projects in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and agriculture,

Provide fiscal support for new and unforeseen expenditure requirements,

Ensure that spending is aligned with current socio-economic realities and development targets.


Next Steps

With the Council’s approval secured, the supplementary budget proposal will now be forwarded to the Jigawa State House of Assembly for legislative consideration and passage in accordance with constitutional provisions and budgetary processes.

Speaking on the development, Governor Namadi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency and people-centered governance.
