The Ophthalmological Society of Nigeria (OSN) has conferred the Award of Excellence on the Governor of Jigawa State in recognition of his remarkable contributions to eye health care delivery services in the state.
The prestigious award was presented during the Society’s annual gathering held between 27th and 29th August 2025, where the governor was commended for his impactful policies and investments that have improved access to quality eye health care for the people of Jigawa.
The OSN noted that under his leadership, Jigawa State has become a model in preventive and curative eye health initiatives, setting an example for other states across Nigeria.
This recognition adds to the growing list of accolades the governor has received for prioritizing health care and human development in the state.
